Pronounced “Bulls” for the french word for Ball, Boules is a family of bowling sports and this restaurant features a Petanque court, picture it as a form of outdoor bowling.
Our first visit here was bittersweet, we did not have a reservation for a Saturday afternoon, but they accommodated us in a table right next to the petanque court, which would normally not be an issue but in petanque the steel ball is thrown in the air waay up and it was low key scary
We got pasta and tacos, and the food was formidable, I believe we could have gotten any of the open tables in the garden area but I guess it’s best to make a reservation for that.
Our second visit was very enjoyable in the garden tables, I got a Ribeye steak to benchmark it, as it is served with seared veggies or fries, Ribeye is 8/10, only because I have tasted much better steak and also because a third of my steak was fat, I like a bit of fat but this time it was too much.
The restaurant features a Brutalist/Minimalist architecture, it is unclear if it was designed by the Owner/Restaurateur as he is an Engineer by formation, but overall is a very pleasant space I would come back to try other items in the menu.
