Inner Beauty III – Cassandra Villareal

Kintsukuroi (“golden repair”) Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and powdered gold. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise, the repair in itself makes the object more beautiful than it was before, since it embraces it’s damage and is allowed to show signs of repair.

When thinking about the body, the same applies, we grow after trauma and our signs of healing should make us proud and in turn more beautiful.
